Marson Orthopaedics is dedicated to delivering specialist care across complex primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, robotic-assisted joint replacement, and direct anterior approach (DAA) hip arthroplasty. Our practice also provides expertise in sports-related knee and shoulder surgery, as well as fracture management.

Meet Dr Nick Marson

Dr Nick Marson is a highly skilled Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist expertise in complex primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, robotic-assisted joint replacement, direct anterior approach (DAA) hip arthroplasty, sports-related knee and shoulder surgery and orthopaedic trauma surgery and fracture management.

He has completed advanced subspecialty training through prestigious fellowships, including the Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship at The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the AO Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles. He has completed surgeon visitations through UK and Europe in the field of direct anterior approach hip replacement, enhance recovery after surgery and robotic surgery.

Holding Fellowships with both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA), Dr Marson has earned postgraduate qualifications in Surgical Sciences and Clinical Epidemiology. He has an interest in research, with multiple national and international presentations on arthroplasty outcomes, robotic surgery, trauma management, and orthopaedic education.

Dr Marson has served in leadership roles within the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons during training and contributed to eduction as an anatomy lecturer and surgical skills instructor. He is committed to advancing orthopaedic practice and is focussed on patient-centred care, utilising evidence-based techniques and the latest surgical technologies to optimise recovery and long-term outcomes.

Having grown up in Launceston he has a strong connection to Northern Tasmania. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and outdoor activities. He brings interstate and internationally training to Tasmania and is committed to providing high-quality specialist orthopaedic care locally.
